FAQs

Your Questions Answered

Will my insurance cover this?

Most insurance companies do not cover weight loss or obesity medications. They view weight loss as cosmetic. We can however give you a receipt that is specifically coded that you may submit to your insurance. Please note that we cannot guarantee they will cover the cost.

How profound is the weight loss?

The medication used has produced profound results for multiple people although we can't guarantee results and everybody is different. Some people have experienced more sustained weight loss using this medication than they previously achieved with gastric bypass surgery.

How does the individually blended medication work?

The medication is prescribed by a specialized doctor and compounded at an authorized pharmacy.  There are a couple of typical protocols the doctors use, and the medication mimics a naturally occurring protein or peptide that tells your brain you are full. This helps with appetite suppression and to reduce cravings.

How quickly does the medication work?

Within the first couple of days you will notice a change and begin to feel full quicker. It may take a couple of weeks to notice the full benefits of the medication.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

If you have a high body mass index with a significant amount of weight to lose then generally you will experience greater weight loss. If you are close to your ideal weight then you may experience a slower but steady weight decline. We can't make any guarantees and information provided is based on what a majority of people have experienced.

How long do you have to stay on the program?

It is up to each individual how long they wish to stay on the program. Some people can achieve their goal in 3-6 months and some prefer to remain on the maintenance program until their body adjusts to their routine.

What are the side effects?

Many people report no side effects but we can't guarantee that for everyone. From person to person, it can vary and some people may experience some mild nausea, stomach cramping, constipation, slight headaches, which all goes away after the first week or two. Some people may experience adverse side effects which may include but are not limited to, repeated vomiting, severe stomach cramps, prolonged constipation, or in rare cases gastroparesis. Whenever taking medication it is important to listen to your body and if you do experience any adverse side effects, stop taking the medication immediately. It is also expected that you are following up with your primary care doctor regularly. If you experience any heart palpitations, chest pain, or shortness of breath you need to go to ER immediately.

How is the medication taken?

It is a micro-injection to your belly fat once per week. Most people barely feel anything and it is virtually painless.
